Happy Halloween!

I'm dressing up as my favorite hero...
But until get I get the pic snapped here's me in Gothwear:

ETA @  9:11 pm 3 pics of me as Claude:
neither of these first two have been altered, just downsized:

this last one was retouched to correct for the light reflecting off the moustache and for the fact that my eyes are actually hazel and not blue like Claude's:

and I suppose this shouldn't surprise anyone:

Your Score: Claude

You scored 33 Idealism, 50 Nonconformity, 33 Nerdiness

Everyone's like the rest. That's why they're the rest.
Congratulations, you're Claude! You're the classic cynical hermit with a secret heart of gold somewhere underneath it all. You're also a mentor whose teaching methods may or may not involve making fun of your young learner's hair and punching them in the face. You have seen and experienced a lot of negative things from people, but people really haven't seen much of you. Your best quality: You're a misanthrope, and can be quite amusing. Your worst quality: You're a misanthrope, and probably aren't very happy.

Hi there, I wandered over from <lj-user=heroes_tv"> and I just had to say that this is a fantastic Halloween costume. The bird is a really nice touch.

Also, your tattoos that you posted earlier are gorgeous. If you don't mind me being nosy, what do the heiroglyphics mean?

Dang, I usually know better than to try html when the insomnia strikes. Apologies for the grabled mess up there.

Which set of glyphs?
Nov. 5th, 2007 10:51 am (UTC)
Er, I was curious about both, really. I was more into Latin than Egypt in school, though I do recognize an ankh in the set on the left (photo left) and feel a little too proud of that fact.

That's probably my "Invisible Man" Tattoo.

I have 3 Glyph sets in all.

Left upper Chest: "Anubis"

Left shoulder blade:"Invisible Man"

Right shoulder blade: "Ninth Doctor"

That Celtic star midback between and above the other 2 was the only non-Egyptian one I added. Try the "Tattoo" tag for more details and pics.

Thanks for the tip on the tags- I still forget that LJ has those now.

Those are really cool- I'm not usually one for translating things into different languages for tattoo purposes (I blame the sororstitutes and their bad kanji for that) but yours are a definite exception.

The Anubis one I'd wanted since I was like 12-13 but you need to be 18 to get one. I also wasn't sure where on my body to put it or which Glyph grouping to go with. In 2000, when I was 27, I settled on this Glyph set from The Book of the Dead and where to put it.

The Ninth Doctor one I almost gut the seal of Rassilon where the Celtic pentaflower now is, but between a dream and seeing how cool the translation for "Ninth Doctor" worked out, I went with that in 2006 after "The Parting of the Ways" had aired and I really missed 9.

The "Invisible Man" one looked really cool oncre I tranlated it (and another dream was involved) and made a nice balance for the opposite shoulder. I had considered having it done in that "blacklight ink," but a lot of places won't use it.
