Some poetry

Claude

Alone on a street corner,

Stands a man.

But no one sees him.

They wouldn’t see him.

Even if he weren’t invisible.

Society forgets,

Overlooks,

Ignores,

Those who make it all possible,

Keep us safe,

Do what we cannot.

They are all invisible, hidden.

The man is hiding,

Hiding with a special gift,

But I see him anyway.

Does he see me?

Does he know I see him?

Will it matter?

Or will he vanish again,

Like a ghost?

Broken

Broken…

Shattered…

Shredded…

Torn…

Violated!

Held together by will alone.

Not all the scars have healed,

Not all are visible.

Others are careless,

And would tear open deep wounds,

And would damage what little healing has occurred.

I say:

ENOUGH!

NO MORE!

And they wonder that I am angry;

They wonder why I fight.

I have walked the path of self destruction,

And I will let none lead me back to it.

Never again.

Very nice! The brevity of a poet is a novelist's envy! :) The last line in the second one has been my motto for several years to the point where I actually want to get "Never Again" tattooed somewhere on my body.

Thnaks. The first is obvious what/who I'm talking about... the second is a bit more personal.
