I used to be very proud of or freedom in the USA then I saw this:

From where I'm sitting it looks suspiciously like they carried this guy off and tasered him just because they didn't like what he had to say. Now I will admit there are a great many things I don't like myself and recently I have asked that people lable things appropriately so that I can ignore/avoid them (and lables make it easier for those who do like those things to find them faster), but no way would I ever advocate this sort of response!

Patrick McGoohan was right... "Freedom is a myth."

I saw that footage on CNN durring my afternoon work-out; it's made me re-think a few things socially and politically. I agree with you - even if they didn't like what he said, th guys shouldn't have been treated like that. He wasn't getting violent; I could see tasering him if he had pulled a gun or a knife, but tasering an unarmed man just makes my blood boil. I thought "freedom of speach" meant defending the rights of a person to speak his/her mind frankly and without fear of repraisal, even if you don't agree with the sentiments/ideology being presented.
